General Information

The Cavellini Archive Foundation is a cultural association established in 1996. The Board of Directors of the association is composed of the founding members, who promoted its setting up as a result of the personal relationships they had with Guglielmo Achille Cavellini (GAC). The President of the association is Piero Cavellini.

The Cavellini Archive Foundation aims to organize and conserve an archive concerning: the GAC's numerous letters and original documents gathered from 1946 onwards, the Mail Art sent to GAC, as artist, dated from 1970 to 1990, a vast library dealing with contemporary art from the post-war period to today including rare editions and series of hard-to-find reviews.

One of the main objectives is to make available the vast and important materials contained in the archive for the consultation (partly on-line) of the associate-members. The Cavellini Archive Foundation will also be promoting manifestations, exhibitions and seminars regarding both archival material and the work of contemporary artists.

It is possible to become an associate-member by applying directly to the registered office of the association. Members enjoy a variety of benefits including free access to the archival material and generous discounts on the various items that will be on sale.
